In the light of the recent development on the country's political situation, life and business in Phuket has remained the same. Tourists may still come and enjoy the sun in the Island. Although Thailand has been beset with political turmoil in the past several months with news of protests and political rallies hampering the interests of tourists, Phuket Island, as before, remains unaffected by the turn of events, and, as in the past, has never been a venue of political protests. Presence of soldiers, that may appear threatening, is at a minimum, and life and business have continued as normal.
